It took me all weekend, but I got it done. I successfully hid all the wiring to give the system a fresh and clean look. My Samsung BD-C5500 Blu-ray player, DirecTv HD-DVR box and HW-C5600 Receiver are all located in my entry hall closet. I used a Niles IR extender system. You can the ceiling mount senor mounted by the front right speaker.

Sorry for the darkness in the closet. I really need to put a light in there.

  • Did you run all of your components through the receiver and then to the TV or each to the TV individually. Can you control the AV receiver through the TV with your TV controller? Thanks

    Dan

  • @cowboydanrice yes, I have a single HDMI cable running to the TV. All the components are running through the receiver.

  • @erickmarshall1 just to clarify, if I connect the WII to the Component Input of the receiver, it would output it through HDMI or do I need to connect the Component Output from teh receiver to the TV.

    Nice Setup btw.

  • @ichi2k Incorrect. One major drawback was the inability to upconvert to 1080p. Meaning, that component cables in require component out. And the same for composite. I had to do HDMI on the Blu-ray and HDMI on the Satellite box.

  • How is the BD-C5500? i just bought one and its on its way......would you mind doing a review? because there doesnt seem to be one on youtube

  • @Blazin4qb So far so good.

The load time is very good and the quality

is as good as any other Blu-ray Player. I just

got it online by running Cat5e cable to my

router. I'm not paying $70ish bucks for their

wireless USB stick. Netflix loads very quickly

    too.

  • hahaha you took a video of your t.v.? hahahahaa

  • @erickmarshall1 if i run hdmi in will the combosit video out then work, i have a hdtv with hdmi and a projector id like to use back and forth.

  • clean install, 5 star for that, but your center should be at the same height your main left and right, just saying.

  • winning!

  • No I found out what it was. I have to use rca for playing music through all speakers. Hdmi will not play pro logic to analog. If I want to play music using cd it will only play through 2 speakers thats because hdmi cannot decode music because music is made in stereo which is 2.1 you have to use rca to run it as analog then turn on the pro logic for it to convert to 5.1 all works now. Its the same problem with my bose system too

  • Got a question for you, i have the same system, watching cable tv through HDMI and also my bluray i have sound through all speakers, but when i put a regualr music cd in my blu ray it only plays sound through the front right and left and the subwoofer no other speaker gets sound does your do that?

  • hey mate, um do you know if you can make it soyou can play songs on it with out the tv conected ???

  • Hey - I have a BD-C5500 as well and think about buying the HW-C560S - Is it a good idea, even if there is not much space? the speakers are not very big but the receiver seems to be a massive thing... And, how did you do this - it's absolutely clean!!!

  • did those speaker mounts come with the system or did you have to buy them elsewhere separately? if so...where did you buy them? thanks!
