The adventures in the brand new Muppets movie begin with Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary's girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) discovering the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theatre. They help Kermit the Frog reunite the Muppets to stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the theatre.

The Muppets is now playing in UK cinemas.

The more I hear this song, the more I love it. When I saw the movie in the theater, I was pretty -- well, my viewing was somewhat *enhanced*, I'll say -- and I was SO into this song, laughing hysterically and really moved at the same time, but I didn't realize HOW great the song was until I heard the Bret McKenzie interview on Fresh Air. He's a genius -- a comic genius AND a Muppety genius. The perfect Manly Muppet of a Songwriting Man. :)

haha, I remember the first time i saw this i couldn't help but think the 'muppet-of-a-maaaan' and 'very manly muppet' bits sounded like they were out of flight of the conchords... i wasn't surprised at all to find out who wrote the song xD

Yes, I like this song, yes, I LOVE The Muppets, but how the heck was this an Oscar winner? What on earth was the competition?
