The Albanian minority living in Macedonia retains many of its national customs and folk traditions, including Rugovo. This dance is a representation of a death and resurrection ritual, performed to demonstrate territorial rights. Adapted for the stage by Neal Sandler.

  • @Ferizajcity Rugova is Simbolic for the surviving of the People who called today "Albanians" form the Roman Empire, the bycantin and Ottoman Empire, thej isolated a thousand year old Culture, with beautiful Dance, music, Instruments clothers and languages....

  • Ooooh sshhiiiit this is awesome VIDEO!!!!!!!! This is a typical Albanian Sworddance, u find it in Kosova, in Macedonia, in Albanian..called "Valle Burrav" (Dance of teh Mans), Valle Shpatav(Dance of teh Sword), Valle Rugova, Valle Decani, Valle Tropoje.

    Ps. Its called Rugova, not Rugovo..... and rugova is a Part of Kosovo, not Macedonia, but in Macedonia thej dance it too...
