omg i hate doing the ones through the back, my yarn always comes off my hook, snags an extra loop, splits the yarn in half..etc..such a pain sometimes.

I need to see how you begin and end a row with back & post single crochet please

Wonderful! Thank you so much! I was trying to do fpsc alternating with bpsc to do a purse pattern last night and just could NOT get the bpsc thing right. Now I think I can work that pattern. Your instructions are super-clear and a nice slow pace for us beginners and novices. I really appreciate your work and will check for other vids you've done.

Hi there, I'm a beginner to crochet. when you are doing a pattern of FPDC on one row and BPDC on the next row, are they supposed to run in lines down, hope this makes sense? thank you

Hi! Thanks for commenting. When you work FPDC on the right side of the fabric, and BPDC on the wrong side, around the post of the FPDC stitches of the previous row, the post stitches will line up on the right side of work. Does that help?

Your instructions are very clear, thank you. I thought I had learned this but was doing it wrong.

You're very welcome! We all have a preference to how we work stitches, but sometimes we need to know the formal way when it comes to reading patterns. Hope the video helped. :D
