I also worked with Clarence Towns. I knew him in the early 1970's and was a keyboardist in his band called XYT. It has been 40 years since but I still think of Clarence and remember how talented and kind he was. What a great sax player and frontman. I learned a great deal from Clarence. I spent much time at his house in the 70's, listening to funk and jamming with extremely talented musicians. I did not know he had passed away. I had always hoped I would run into him again. Sad.
Setting the Flame they Call "Funk" that Burns Outta Control-BLAZERS!!! -Dyke -Rodney Brown and ALL the Phoenix SouL People Everywhere- + Dj and Historian Johnny D For Setting the RECORDS Straight-
This guy was on the verge of SuperStardom.Believe me when I say this. he had one of the rawest sounds ever. Unfortunately he was cut down before his potential could be realized. but I am a huge fan of this untapped Soul Man
