04 kill the enemy
course:
learn to hate the enemy.
kill the other kind.
fly your flag of ignorance.
sell their blood for wine.
vs. 1
see it on the tv.
information is our food.
someone's doing bad things.
read it in the news.
need another fighter jet.
to get us in the mood.
we know the bad guys out there.
'cause we saw it on the news.
course:
learn to hate the enemy.
kill the other kind.
fly your flag of ignorance.
sell their blood for wine.
vs. 2
need another ship and tank.
we heard our leader say.
a few more guided missiles.
blow them monsters away.
we're going to be in big trouble.
if we can't bring them to a stop.
the poor man pays his life.
start course:
learn to hate the enemy.
kill the other kind.
fly your flag of ignorance.
sell their blood for wine.
vs. 3
we believe what we hear.
programmed to what they say.
shut the library and the school.
it don't matter anyway.
sprinkle bombs on the enemy.
that's what we believe.
better to eliminate all of them.
lest we be deceived.
start course:
learn to hate the enemy.
kill the other kind.
fly your flag of ignorance.
sell their blood for wine.
images are from ernst hunsicker's documentary film, the land of many waters. images from a guyanese journey. guyana, south america. the one south american country that speaks english. a very beautiful accent of it in geroge town. in the hinterland, the savannahs and the jungles, they speak a fairly canadian accent. well, normal. they also have languages that go back thousands of years. big business is just starting to rape guyana. the world ignores it because the media is locked on the wars of america like some kind of virtual reality tv.
kill the enemy was one of my first songs what i put in text. i wrote it for someone else to play but the guy disappeared and i don't even remember his name.
since then, i thought i'd be a real guitar player and played with my cds everyday and was pretty good at playing lead. but i figured, after having it said to me in various ways, that i better try something else, so i made some cords for that song and though my singing ain't so great on this, it sounds like a song.
so i was pretty happy to have done it. like it is with teenagers.
it is one of my favourite guitar solos. john rah playing with john rah with the help of a computer to hold one event frozen so i could get back to it. technology can be fun. just the war that sucks. and for some people, the poverty that sucks. and in guyana it is so obvious a fuck over. they have huge gold reserves. trillions of dollars worth. and they are crippled by a few billion dollars world bank fuck over.
the best compliment i got from the kill the enemy song was from my brother james who asked me who played the violin.
peace
john rah
