On January 31 2011, Qatar Airways began 5x / week pax services between BRU and Doha with Airbus A330-200. The inaugural flight was welcomed by a couple of Belgian Air Force F16s, sadly the weather was too poor to escort the A330 of Qatar to the runway, so they remained invisible. On the ground, the fire brigade was also unable to give it a water salute as temperatures were subzero. Nevertheless, here a motion picture of this happy day for Brussels Airport, but in rather poor (misty) weather.
@PoloJMJ Always glad to serve QR as a check-in or gate agent, captain ;-)

Thanks for shooting my landing.
It's was so emotional to come back to BRU for the first QR Flight , after so long time since CityBird collapsed.
Unfortunately, the weatther was better days before. But what to do?
Thanks to the BAF for the F16 escort. that will stay an unforgettable moment in the rest of my life.
Anyway come and enjoy the 5 stars Airline for any destination in the world. The Firts QR 941 Captain :-)

Great video, too bad for the cloudy/rainy cold weather.
Can't wait to photograph that aircraft.
