I filmed this video from 11h Butterburn Court, Dundee before the Derby Street Multis vanish from the city skyline forever. Hilltown Views is told by local lad Iain Russell on the day he was forced out of his home (which he loved) by Dundee City Council. This multi now sits empty alongside Bucklemaker Court. There is a severe housing shortage in our city but the powers that be who 'Rule Dundee' continue to demolish perfectly good houses! Why? Stop blaming it on the same old story "there is no demand for houses like this anymore" coz that is just NONSENSE! Spend money on them, do them up and give people a home instead of wasting the tapayers money on 'White Elephants' such as the 'Park & Ride'...RANT OVER!
hooly your right typical Dundee City Council bull excuses , they have done the same with Alexander Street Ardler Menzieshill Multis . A lot of these buildings housed a minority of anti social tenents that constantly wrecked them which added to there fate . Where are these tenents now ? , they are in high demand areas byron street the glens the lot doing exactly the same destroying good houses . They should have kept the whitfield skarne blocks up put a fence round them & put them in there.
