Fun With Dumb by Dumbfoundead

Released in 2009 on Project Blowed.

I forgot to say most of this album reminds me of Fatty Spins.

Dumbfoundead is an MC based out of L.A., real name Johnathan Parks (this might not be true, info on the net was sketchy at best) and is member of Thirsty Fish. Lots of bloggers said he was one of the most under rated underground MC's. This is his debut album.

What you get with Fun With Dumb is just some jokey, humorous hip hop. Nothing too serious at all. Just a bunch of light hearted songs with some decent production.

Dumb's mic skills are decent. His delivery and rhymes are tight, but his hooks need some work. They could have used a little more bite, but I think he's was going for that friendly, "keeping it real" vibe. Subject matter includes blue balls, cockblockers, getting laid, college, whack MC's and so forth. He does try to rap about political stuff at some point with mixed results All in all, he shows considerable talent for an up and comer. He has some good energy and charisma.

The beats are good, too, for the most part. some of them sound pedestrian, but others sounds somewhat innovative. There's also some turntablism and scratches presented, but they don't really add much to the album, just Dumb letting his DJ show off.

I'd say this albums biggest problems were the weak hooks and weak subject matter. Sure, it's all fun and games, but you never really care about his blue balls or cockblocking shenanigans. At the end of the day, all this is is just a some novelty, borderline comedy album. Good to listen to if your some sexually frustrated, pothead going through a dry spell in college. Not too relevant to many other lifestyles though.
