If you get moaned at by you wife girlfriend for spending money on good lensses point out that they hold their value extremely well years later a good canon lens on ebay usually gets around three quarters of the new price.

nice camera! and great lens! ive so far bought the 28 135 is lens its a great everday use lens and am saving for more.You must have a fair bit of money. I bought the 50mm 1.8 in the end cos it was cheaper. The EFS 10 22 is next on the wish list.

Thanx for the reply. I shot this with the 70 - 200 2.8 IS but the video compression didn't do the clip any justice. The lens however as you can see kept up with the 2.8 aperture that I had it set at.

My eos 40d can't focus that fast. In fact, in Al-Servo mode, focusing is quite long.

I have used a sigma 170 - 500 on the Mk III and found that lens to be very slow with AF on that camera. I think it depends on the lens that a person is using. The 70 - 200 2.8 is a very fast lens and I've used it on the 20D, 40D and also the MK III using AI servo and had great results on all three cameras. The problem is the price of a lens like this. I consider myself fortunate that I was able to afford to set myself up with nice glass.
