A video tribute to William Fries aka C.W.McCall born in 1928 he is now around 80 years of age and resides in Ouray CO where he was elected mayor for to terms.

only took me 35000 miles for the novelty to where off and relize no matter homw much we get paid it aint worth it too many ppl think of the truckers of old that ran 3-4 days without restin, ya I think those days should be gone but for god sakes man dont shoot the fuckin messenger if we are pushin it it is because the company is goin off the guy who makes the most miles look legal they need to calculate up milage and if the person is early they can sit there and wait til their logbook is legal

I had the pleasure of meeting Bill at the I-80 Truck Stop, what a hell of a nice person.
Still treasure the album he signed for me.

Bill was an important part of my life and his music gave me my respect and love for the outdoors. In June/July 2008 I took the adventure of my life to many of the place he wrote about.
I meet Bill and had dinner with him in Ouray. Got to talk to him and he is one heck of a guy.
I have posted videos with real pictures/ video of these places. I encourage you to write Bill and tell him what his music meant to you, say thank you while he is still around.

i grew up in alb.nm and when we would travel n.w. of alb we would always drive by the spot where the Black Widow fipped her truck. what a great movie.

I seen it when I was a kid too... Also seen Smokey And the Bandit in the theatre when I was a kid... Like 6 times!!! I love that one too!!!!

I love all the smokey and the bandit films and convoy i have them all and i have every lp C.W.McCall put out from 1975 to 1979
