Part 6 of 10 - Martha D. Lewis and Eve Polycarpou with their Band, surprise their audience with the first ever rendition of 'Cyprus/Κύπρος/Kibris', a song they had written specially for the Camden Cypriot Festival 1991, featuring lyrics written by Nese Yasin and performed in English, Greek and Turkish. Martha and Eve have continued playing this song at most of their performances since then, but this was arguably their most evocative and powerful rendition of a song that has become a classic song in Cypriot circles.
Joining Martha and Eve on stage for the Meze performance:
Simon Deacon on the piano
Julia Doyle on the Double Bass,
Cliff Venner on Drums,
Chris Kyriacou on Bouzouki,
Diane McLoughlin on Saxophone
