The Mongolian and Chinese parts complement each other so well, jusr as the sky and water ... utterly beautiful, the whole thing : the composition, musical and visual, the stunning DaiQing Tana, the band, the scenery ... breaks my heart every time ... Love it !

Han Chinese way back in Han Dynasty as a frontier outpost. It was only detached from Gansu and added to Qinghai province only in 1928 by ROC in order to provide an administrative center for newly established Qinghai province, which used to be loosely organized by Qing Dynasty as Kokonor territory.

To resolve this Tibet or Mongolia thing - Qinghai is an ethnic mixing zone, inhabited by Tibetans (Amdowa), Mongols (Kokonor Mongols, derived from Oirats), Han Chinese, Hui, Salar, and Yugur (Yellow Uighurs, basically Uighurs who fled collapse of Uighur Khaganate, but did not convert to Islam but became Tibetan Buddhist instead). Check out Xining (Tibetan: Siling) city and you will see these ethnic groups plus many others.
