Individually the Beatles were very talented.

BUT! Eric Clapton said gave the best definition. The said the first time he saw them at Hammersmith Odeon they sounded as one man - that was the key, symmetry. They would know in a kind of telepathic way what each of the other 3 was doing, about to do & their reactions to ad-hoc deviations, etc.

The drumming was mainly composed Ringo with little direction or influence from the others. As he said, he drummed for the singer -not trying to be clever
