Wow what a dirty hit. And the fans of this team get angry about Marchands hit? This one was about 2x as bad. He was going full speed to put a clean hit on Ballard and he took him out by the knees. Canucks are cowards. And so are a lot of the fans.

@Ironbreaker1823 It's different because Marchand hit Salo around the knees. Ballard if you watch closely, hits McGinn just below the hip. To be honest with you, when I watched this game,I thought it was going to be a penalty for sure. Luckily we have video replay. Plus with Marchand, Salo wasn't taking a run at him and Marchand basically ignored the puck just to take out Salo. Salo doesn't take runs at anyone...To be honest,I can't remember when Salo had a big hit on anyone

@iLLWiL420 as a Canuck fan I do agree that both the hits were low. The big thing imo is that Marchand went for the intent to injure, you can see that as seconds before his hit he was giving Salo a few punches to the head. As far as im aware there were no instances between Ballard and McGinn before this play.

I also think a big factor of the Marchand hit was the aftermath - Marchand saying he was protecting himself from a d-man who doesnt really play the physical game was a bit stupid imo.
