@tokee1234567 no matter how you say baegopa, people would still get what you are saying. The tone you are talking about is just intonation. that also exists in English

@iLUVphelps tonal in terms of chinese and other languages mean tonal as in the individual letters. For chinese, there are like 4-5 different tones to say Ma and that implies totally different meanings for each. No matter how you say Bae, people would not be able to distinguish whether you are talking about a boat, pear, or stomach just by your tone. Same goes for baegopa.

@tokee1234567 I think you mean LESS-tonal, compared to the other Asian languages at least. For example, if you want to say "I am hungry," you would say 배고파 (bae-go-pah). If you want to ask someone if they are hungry, you use the same phrase, but you change the tone. This is the same for most of the Korean vocabulary.
