Flavour n Fire man lmao.

LOL! It's insanely hot and keeps coming at you -- relentlessly. The fact you ate an entire chile is amazing! Very impressive --even with your "near-death experience".

Interesting. I will have to check out the dorset naga. The first real Jolokia's coming over from India were the Naga Jolokia and "Naga" seemed to become the popular name -- somewhere along the line, Jolokia took over. I will investigate.

I had one last night at my pals house hadnt even heard of it before then. Ate the entire naga swallowed it and all. There was a time i honestly thought i was going to die

I think you are correct on the intestinal parasite thing. When I went to India, an experienced friend hooked me up with some capsules of cayenne pepper for just that purpose. I think the heat in the chillies really serves that function.
The Jolokia will be hot like the habanero, but the heat will last a lot longer time (instead of 5 minutes or so, expect 15-20 minutes based on when I ate a small piece of one). Have plenty of milk, ice cream, yogurt, bread, et, al on hand to quench the fire.

If this pepper is that bad on the way out, it probably kills a lot of intestinal parasites too. Might be a good thing to do. I am planning to try a bhut jolokia if I can find a real one. I have eaten whole Habareno and yes it was hell hot but no where near as bad as I expected so we'll see how it goes. It's been a few years since I ate the habanero so I bought some today to "work my way up".

fI've eaten a number of hot chiles. This is the one that keeps on burning -- especially on the way out.

Molten lava! Well said. Clearly, you have had experience with the Jolokia. Just because the pain is gone . . . doesn't mean the pain is finished.

I am not sure. They say pepper spray can be 2 million scovilles. The jolokia is 1 million so I am assuming it's a lot of pain, but people do recover. People who handle always use gloves.

The Jolokia is actually in the Habnero family -- like the Red Savina Habanero, the Chocolate Habanero, and the Orange Habanero. This pepper from India is about twice the heat level of the Red Savina (595,000 Scovilles) vs. Jolokia (Over 1 Million Scovilles). I've tried both and there is nothing like the Jolokia for relentless heat!
