mac hardly ever get viruses because most businesses use PC's which is why viruses are usually made.

@g0rsk13g4n9st4 Then again, I have a Windows PC, a MacBook, an iPod Touch, and a Windows Phone. Not overly keen on the iPod Touch (I got it as a multi-platform developer), much prefer Windows Phone OS to iOS. And I prefer Windows 7 to Mac OS X Lion. (my tablet will be a HTC Android tab, not an iPad). Truth is, Macs are overpriced. And Apple have the cheek to try and charge me £300 to fix a MANUFACTURING defect!

@daxster25 Then would you be so kind as to name just one OS X virus that has ever existed in the wild, ever. Developer created malware that is only tested in labs but is never released into the wild doesn't count. Truth is, most OS X malware that exists are trojans. You have to manually download, manually install it and manually run it in order for it to have ANY effect. They certainly don't auto-infect, don't replicate, and don't auto spread across computers as Windows viruses do.

@OW41N OK, I understand that you prefer a Windows machine because of gaming. Why you actually HATE Apple is still beyond me. I, personally, prefer Macs, I hated using Vista, but I don't hate Microsoft. I love my Xbox. My friend dislikes Macs, but he likes his iPhone, and he certainly doesn't hate Apple. Why hate a company because they cater to different audience?

@wilhamlin "what professional industries are Macs abundant in?" How about: film, music production, graphic design, software engineering and advertising. The most ironic example being that "I'm a PC, and Windows 7 was my idea." ads were created on Mac Pros (using Final Cut and After Effects). Also, professional software suites on Mac OS blow away those on Windows. Most professionals use Final Cut, Motion, Aperture, Shake, Logic, etc.. because they have no equal.
