I havent watched this movie, I am sure its brillian however I have heard that theyve mentioned India as being the birthplace of Buddha.
Watching a video of Nikhil Advani on indiafm.com attempting to justify himself didnt help as he mentioned that Lumbini was in India in 18 something, this may be true however when is the movie set?
It doesnt look like the movies set in 1820's or something so why not update ourselves and speak of now'

which would mean .. the alteration to Buddha was born in Nepal
Its the young children who will be wrongly educated about this matter. The movie has been banned in Nepal, which is a pity as im sure that Warner Bros etc are losing a lot of money.

Secondly, why are we Nepalese getting psyched up about issues such as these whilst we turn deaf ears when India consistently encroaches the Nepalese border. So far figures stand aroung 47,000 sq km which is believed to have been taken by India. Nepal and India needs to strongly review that Sugauli treaty because its high time that rivers shouldnt be used as a border.
Rivers change courses, erode, and you know' a whole lotta crazy things.

  • i dont think the problem is with where Buddha was born............

it is with-"DID NEPAL EXIST when BUDDHA was BORN?"

    the answer is NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so tooo bad NEPAL is younger than BUDDHA............ so it is TRUE!! BUDDHA was born in India.............

but again NEPAl was formed later and Lumbini became a part of NEPAL...

so well the birthplace of BUDDHa is in NEPAL............but he wasnt born in NEPAL.............

so SHUT the hell up and get the HISTORY right........

  • speaking of the context in which this is said. IS THE MOVIE CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA SET IN THE 18OO's .

  • Okay technically Buddha was born in Nepal but he was influenced by Indian -Nepali culture. The real problem is that the Nepalis and the Indians are culturally the same people. The culture and the people of northern Indian and nepal are the same, thus Buddha is really Nepali-Indian, Okay !

  • @chonondrum

ha..ha when buddha was born if you think Nepal didn't existed then did India?

if you think Nepal was formed later don't get the history right get your head right coz if nepal was formed after india was formed obviously So called India would never ever let this tiny country form.

and do you think the story in this film goes back that far? before india was formed? surely nepal was formed before india was united.

    sorry truth is biter.

  • @chonondrum On a totally different note, you really shouldn't have skipped your history lessons

  • Yeah you are so totally correct. Man! I can't get back to SUBSCRIBE you.

It is common that a small fish is eaten by a big fish but the thing is that despite Nepal arguing with India, we, Nepalese are forgetting about our own defects. Buddhist = completely carry no pride. Love it!

    5/5! Jai Nepal!

  • First of all why are there swear words mentioned in the same sentence as Lord Buddha's name? Very shameful. Also if you read the Dhammapada you will see mention of Brahmanistic Gods such as Indra. The language in which the Holy ones words were written down with were sanskrit and pali. Buddha is born in present day Nepal but he was part of the ancient Indian society.

  • @wprozz: if u say buddhism is part of hinduism then u r making a big mistake dude.Buddhism did grow out of hinduism but their core philosophies are the exact opposites.Hinduism teaches that there is an omnipotent god i.e. Paramatma and that every being has an eternal soul. Buddhism says that there is no soul n no school of buddhism accepts the existence of a god. The "gods" worshipped by Nepali buddhists are not real gods n many r hindu influence. N most nepali buddhist know nothin bout buddhism

  • man fuck india!

  • ho ho machickny dhoti haru...in i ike the way u talk wannabewithu

  • It's absolutely right and we all Nepali can prove that Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal. That's just a drama of Indian "dhoti" people 2 say Buddha was born in India or Lumbini lie in their area.....I like 2 give gr8 thanks to lexlimbu for putting this video in youtube to suggest all Nepali people.......
