Carly Fiorina was making a good point here. American is no competing in the global market. Encouraging companies to stay in USA will definitely help in reducing unemployment. However, outsourcing jobs that can be done here to India becuase they labour is cheaper is creating unemployment here at home.
Companies that outsource Jobs to oversea just to increase profit while people are unemployed are hurting the economy becuase if americans are unemployed eventaullly it will affect their business.

@HemiHead66 I think you misunderstood me. That 2% were Americans, and this was back in the day when we thought "trickle down economics" worked (it doesn't). Plus Americans consumers DID benefit from free trade as it allowed us to purchase more tariff free goods at a lower cost, which is precisely what we've been talking about all along with China....
-
@trufbetold What are you kidding me? We were fine with it when we were the ones benefiting from the exploitation?? ""We'" never benefited from anything, the top 2% to18% did. The Bottom 80% were left pissing in the wind. We paid the price so those big corporations could do business over there. And people to this day have no idea what is going on with this crap. This was sold to us as being good for everybody, not just us. That was a lie!
-
@HemiHead66 Are you kidding? China has the fastest growing economy in the world! You think we're rich? We have the biggest saving deficit in the world! Do you know what that means? We spend every cent on crap and then we borrow even more money to buy more crap! We are broke lol! The truth is, we have to buy from China because their goods are cheaper than domestic goods. We have a consumer economy that's based on borrowing money, China has an export economy; an enviable one, I might add.
-
@HemiHead66 lol. As I said before, it's not polite but its true. Don't get mad at me, it wasn't my idea, American politicians since Reagan along with economists like Milton Friedman have been trying to persuade the WORLD to be free traders. Yes, its exploitative, but we were fine with it when we were the ones benefiting from the exploitation. Now we're jobless. China, however, is the world's manufacturer, who keeps their labor costs low and a cheap currency, ie, EXACTLY what we should be doing.
-
@trufbetold We're over priced? The Chinese can't even afford an apartment to live in. They're jumping from the factory roof tops cuz they see no future in being slaves. To be competitive we would have to be slaves. And your FREE-TRADE is just a bunch of bullshit that enriches a few at the expense of many. They're exploiting the Chinese & others for profit. Look at corp profits. If I was running this country it would be a level playing field, or nothin. You can't grow an economy w everyone broke.
-
@trufbetold China can't grow their economy internally, they have to export products to richer countries. And now the U.S. and Europe are being sucked dry and overburdened with debt because these politicians passed lawn that undermine their countries to enrich their campaign contributing corporate friends. Its only a matter of time before this all blows up in their face. There is no rosy outcome.
-
@HemiHead66 I agree, its terrible. No one said it was fair but FREE trade requires no international restrictions on labor or capital. You really think they wouldn't hire Americans if we were the best though? We're not competitive anymore. I know its not nice to say, but its true. We don't compete for those jobs because we feel we are already entitled to them. Do you think they know anything about a "standard of living" in Mexico or China? Its not cheap labor, the market says we are overpriced.

So go live in Ireland,You SKANK BITCH! Thats where youre putting support for jobs, infrastructure,so on and so on. Go Live There!!!!!
Fiorina is either manipulating the facts or just simply lying .
In this interview she got it all wrong and she does not know what she is talking about.
She manipulates figures same way she manipulated Hewlet Packard finances bringing the company to the brink of colapse.
She lies and she distorts the facts.

Yeah, we're competing around the world for jobs, so that means we should all start working for 50 bucks a week, and throw all our environmental laws out the fucking window so we can live in the same toxic shit-hole as the Chinese. Fuck you! You don't lower our standard of living to that of the third-world, you raise theirs, ya greedy fuck. Watch how fast your profits grow when nobody can afford to buy anything. Right now your getting rich off putting the Chinese in debt, Have fun while it lasts.
