  • I want to see a video of people reactions to those animations in the 20's

  • Brilliant! I love the proscenium frame that the show takes place in- complete with rolldrops and curtains!

  • This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long while. The illusion of life is perfect, I love the fact that the insects only do what they realistically could if they set their mind to it. I watch it and all I can do is admire what a nice little show those marvelous creatures have put together.

I've watched this a dozen times today, and I simply cannot get enough of that cycling cockroach.

But how does the Tumble Bugs act end?

  • yeah, mccay didn't quite invent animated drawing himself, but this is fantastic either way.

  • cheese and dreaming are also linked in Little Nemo comic stoy books

  • just STUNNING!!!

  • Thank you very much for posting this!

Erikbjo, is the music originally part of the film? Am I correct in understanding that Bug Vaudeville is the director, and McCay is the animator?

  • isn't this just remarkable? what a visionary ol' Winsor was

  • such detail! very nice to watch.
