Decided to do a lesson demonstrating the sweep picking intro of my last song "Violence in Your Cereal," hence the name of this video.

It has a bunch of arpeggio shapes and some alternate picking as well, so it may help some people out who want to improve their sweeps or learn some new ones.

I'm open to doing more video lessons if people want to see them. Leave suggestions if you do.

Enjoy!

  • how do u increase the note clarity in the recording (especially in sweep picking arpeggios)????? i know that it depends on how cleanly one plays them but still are there any tips or tricks to it???

  • @lovepuremetal5 the main thing to do when muting excess noise during sweep picking is using the pickng hand to lightly press against the strings you don't want to make noise. You kind of have to drag your hand against the strings as you move the pick. Even if the notes you do want to hit are muted, it doesn't matter. Whatevrr you are pickngwill be the loudest and therefore the other muted notes won't be noticeable.

  • that fretboard is nanonucleonicly immaculate to the 33rd degree, Arch-Mason level....PERIOD!

  • @BeefSupreme288 I agree... I think. Also, how high are you?

  • I have some suggestion for a next to came (hoppefully) lesson :p. What do you think of showing routine, exercices, that can help increase the speed and/or the clean of alternate picking ?

I was looking at your video about the alternate picking (better in one day etc) and was thinking "ok but what can you do to really practice".

Thanks for just considering this and keep rocking like you're doing ;)

  • @BadAngelV1 ummmm the problem is I don't do any or know any exercises to practice. I am a firm believer in Justin bribery. Oops I mean firm beleiver in NOT doing repetive exercises at all. The best thing to do is to learn parts of songs or solos that have the technique you want to improve. Or better yet, create your own solo or melody that will force you to se that technique. Probably not the answer you wanted by that is my theory
