MPP's Neal Levine talks with Dana Gentry about the increasing support for taxing and regulating marijuana like alcohol and the rewards of such a system. He also discusses the plans for a ballot initiative to be voted on in 2012. Mr. Levine is the Director of the Marijuana Policy Project of Nevada. 06/11/2009

Make alcohol and cigarettes illegal. Marijuana was legal till 1968. Driving drunk causes more deaths anything. That is true. Why should someone who doesn't have a problem loose their job? It ain't like people smoke it on every work break. Unlike cigarette smokers getting their fix every break. Don't do it if you don't like it. There are far more important issues to have a war on. We need a war on drunk driving. A war on kids under the "legal age" accessing cigarettes and alcohol.

I have an idea, why don't we make alcohol and cigarettes illegal. So I don't have watch everyone on work break get their "fix". What is wrong with it? Not like you kept alcohol and cigarettes from kids! Alcohol has the biggest death rate and driving accidents. It is true. Don't do it if you don't like it. Be responsible for what you do. It was legal. Alcohol was illegal. It's wrong we should have to pay for it.

They should sell all the foods that can be made from cannabis at WalMart too. That would be good as the plant has more in it than just THC that is good for human consumption. The more I read about the plant the more I wonder why it is illegal in all forms including industrial use, by the gov.?

you never got a bad PTSD pot trip? well thats all good but i think it shouldnt be a medical thing, it should be something you can buy like any plant. It shouldnt be something you need to go to the pharmacy for, it should be something you can buy at wallmart without a prescription if your over 18. But i am glad people can get it for medical purposes now.

It helps fibromyalgia  pain as far as it distracts me from it and it helps me eat and sleep right. I don't remember PTSD dreams if I have cannabis before bed.

well yeah of course. I will admit my reasons have changed from recreational to medicinal but I do still want it. The sad part is since my health changed I NEED it.
