@DjElSemtex Hey Dj,I saw them at Tipitina's in New Orleans in ' 82,(Dave Alvin said a lot of Lee's old N.O.buddies from Fats Domino's band ,etc.were there backstage that night, and what a night it was) and then again in Chicago about 2?yrs.later. I also saw Hollywood Fats with them in Sept.of ' 86 (again in Chicago). Fats was supposed to be with them in N.O. that Dec.but passed away not long before, luckily Dave Alvin rejoined the band and saved the gig!
When did you become that lucky, to see them in the original line-up? For me it was in the summer of 1985 or 1986, don't remember exactly anymore but it was with the classic linee-up, including the two Alvins, Gene Taylor and the late great 'Chinaman' Lee Allen.. :-)
@DjElSemtex Yes it is,(a year after your post, you may know this already) The DVD is titled "Going Home" and is great from start to finish. The original Blasters and Sonny Burgess! What a treat. BTW I agree with your comment about Lee Allen. I was fortunate enough to see him twice with the Blasters.
