Mexicanos y centroamericanos hablamos el Nahuatl en ignorancia. Despues de 500 años de genocidio y colonialismo, el lenguaje de nuestra identidad esta presente diariamente. No somos hispanos ni latinos. 500 años de colonialismo no nos roba nuestra herencia y identidad indigena.

Decolonize ur tongue. Mexican Spanish language is Mestizo. Spanish occupies Nahuatl. Someone who spoke Nahuatl and no Spanish probably would'nt understand what ur saying bc ur accent sounds European. There is no substitute for un-molested Indigenous language.

@bluwakpa thats not what this video is about. Its not about taking pride in the colonization of the Nahuatl language, its about us being completely ignorant to the mere fact that we speak spinkles of Nahuatl in the Spanish language that we have been forced to speak for the last 500 years. Unfortunately our Indigenous languages have been molested and it is our job to point out this crime.And my accent is not European, its sounds like a Mexican girl who was raised speaking Spanish and English.

wow. i always had a feeling that those Mexican state names were linked to the indigenous tongues. I mean just look at the name Michoacan. That dont sound Spanish at all. el papa de mi primera novia fue un maya. solamente hablaba en la lengua indigena sin ningun espanol. i was like damn thats cool.

Chicano es una palabra que hoy en dia los ninos usan para no decir que son Mexicanos. Chicano una palabra mugrosa... como latino y hispano.

Chicano is just a word the americans let the Mexican youth use to describe themselves so they can grow apart from the mother land which is MEXICO.

As a Mexican I look down on all who admit to being Chicanos.

Of course we know that the vassal kingdoms under the Triple Alliance,lead by the Mexica, headed by Moctezuma, were unhappy with Mexica dominance, so Cortez was able to organize them into a revolt against the Mexica (the so-called "Conquest") Native depiction show mostly Natives--not Spaniards--fighting Natives.The Spaniards had to have "conquests, or else they couldn't be "conquistadores".

@AnahuacWomenFight I apologize for being rude, but i would prefer to separate our languages from euro languages. What i should have said is that our ancestors (or fluent Nahuatl, non-euro language speaking ppl) would think we're talking like a european out of generic association. Obviously we know better. Didn't mean to discourage anyone from exploring Indigenous languages. Decolonization begins w self & our language is an expression of self. We ought not settle for crumbs. Mitakuye Oyasin.
