Forgive and forget? NO WAY!

This is to all you doomsday fear merchants, consider this a declaration of war.

Comet Elenin and asteroid YU 55 have come and gone and the impact on the h. No doubt many videos that predicted an impact with the Earth or some other apocolyptic scenario have been removed without a whimper by some of the *ahem* prophets.

My immediate reaction is to make a video laughing my arse off at the idiots who perpetrated this nonsense, and this is certainly a tempting thing to do.

But then, without a doubt we will hear the "have some respect" chorus kick in, a bunch of apologetic and supposedly diplomatic group of people who will say it is unfair to remind people of their failings, and that we should move on and let bygones be bygones and past mistakes should be buried in the sands of time.

Well I say you can blow this forgive and forget notion out of your arse.

It's one thing to make a mistake, but that isn't what these prophets of doom were doing. To put it bluntly, these bunch of sorry morons were vandalising and bastardising science. They were deliberately creating a climate of fear in which many of them profited directly or indirectly. For example there were survival kits being sold to some people, while other people probably invoked economic hardship on themselves by blowing out the family budget stocking up on tinned food, and this is ignoring the health effects on people's lives that the increased stress has had.

No, the perpetrators of this shit need to be held accountable for what they did, learn from what they did and apologise for what they did. To all the people who helped spread this climate of fear I challenge you to acknowledge your mistakes in a video. I challenge you to change how you examine similar subject matter in the future and I challenge you to try to make an effort to understand the science before you misrepresent it.
