Iris insists that there's nothing different about her party; it's just friends, family, and the usual holiday cheer. Hank replies that it's not usual for him and he's not cheerful, so he'll see her. Iris asks him to please stay, and Hank asks if there's someplace they can go and talk for a minute, and Iris says yes. But then Dennis grabs Iris, needing her to corroborate a story from his childhood for him, so he whisks her away, and when she's occupied with Dennis and the others, Hank leaves. Ryan and Spencer commiserate over their treatment by Brett and the mayor, respectively. Spencer thinks Brett is attractive, but Ryan reminds Spencer that Spencer told him when he was young to never judge a book by its cover. Spencer is surprised that Ryan took something he said to heart. One of the maids gives Ryan a letter that was left at the back door for him. Spencer asks if it has something to do with Grant. Ryan reads the letter and tells Spencer that it's from Carl. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.
