As seen on Getaway - The Overland Track holds a legendary status as one of the finest bushwalks in Australia. We hike from the dolerite crags of Cradle Mountain to the rainforest-clad shores of Lake St. Clair, savouring a complete adventure experience. This is an unforgettable trek through the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Each step will lead to new discoveries and some of mother nature's finest creations. Rest by a cool mountain stream, admire the view of a glassy lake reflecting the surrounding peaks or investigate the delicate cushion plants thriving amongst alpine extremes. Waterfalls, dolerite mountains, lakes, tarns and diverse ecosystems unfold along the way. This itinerary is designed to travel at a relaxed pace allowing us to best appreciate highlights and side trips. This graded trail is suitable for first time bushwalkers, our food drops and modern lightweight equipment will keep your backpacks relatively light and experienced guides will help to bring the track alive for you with their local knowledge & enthusiasm for the Tasmanian wilderness.
