Old white men telling him what their lives are all about. Demanding buy-in to their system.

Worked against "communism."

-- from an old white man - time for change - big change.

What does the fact that they are white have to do with anything? Why do progressives, who are keen to say that you judge a work of art not by the intention of the author but on its own merit alone, throw all that out when the author is an old white man? Bulverism is what C.S. Lewis called it: suggest bad motives of the author and you don't have to answer his logic. How about answering their words? Is capitalism the best way to improve the lives of the most people or not?

I made an observation. A video is images and sound. I see two older white men telling a younger black man about their interpretation of life.

That's what video, YouTube, and art are about. Images and sound telling a story.

You have a problem, posting a video and getting comments - from all people who may view the video.

Jack Webb, Friday, Lewis. Do YOU have thoughts of your own? Maybe your thoughts are in your video. Hard to tell.

Capitalism? A small part some people's lives.

My problem was with your use of the word "demanding." To me it is the progressives who demand. Conservatives try to convince. We welcome discussion, and like the give and take. Progressives tell us "time for talking is over". "The science is settled."

For example, I would argue that capitalism gives the most people the most good and the history of Hong Kong and the aerial photos of the two Koreas prove this. In both your posts you seem to denigrate capitalism. Do you know a better system?

Your "observation" says more about the paradigm through which you see the world than any shortcoming of the video. Footage was found of two men making entirely valid points to someone who has lost sight of the obvious; that they happen to be white men is certainly observable but has no bearing on the points being made.

And, in the real world, nearly every aspect of our lives has economic consequences so a departure from capitalism can (and does) have major implications on our freedoms.

Any ownership of the means of production at any level is socialism (and harmful), that includes any "public option" which interferes with the functioning of the market. The implication of those who use that "abbreviated form" is that the uninsured in this country have a great deal of trouble receiving care. That possition is absolutely false.

The US, as it happens has the finest healthcare on the planet and I am against government screwing that up.

...and ten there are those who aren't covered simply becasue they are in this country illegally. Meanwhile, people are not dying in the streets. Only 0.7% of deaths are due to "lack of preventive services" (used as a proxy for lack of insurance, which on a per capita basis is comparable or better than the death rate under socialized medicine due to rationing of care.

And it is not my fault if you do not know how to use the word "socislism" correctly...

FedEX and UPS are so successful because the post office runs so poorly that it can't compete even with a monoploy on first class mail. And very, very few "can't afford health insurance. The Census Bureau does two surveys that number the uninsured at roughly 47 million and 24 million, respectively, and concede the latter is more accurate. Some 15 million (earning up to $80K) are eligible for Medicare/Medicaid but haven't enrolled. Well over half that remain make well over the poverty line...
