brazing copper to steel using silver braze filler. Harris easy flo 35 and stay silv white flux. A brazing tip would have worked better but all I had available was a cutting torch.

  • sweet good thing you dident flux it up :D hihih sorry i had too . whats the purpose of the copper washers on steel bolts?

  • @citydriver In this case, the purpose was strictly the drawing specifications . I suspect it was part of some type of fixture for electroplating that needed a good conductor. All that flux came off easily in a bucket of hot soapy water.

  • I want that induction gun more than anything in the world. I know I would never use it but I still covet it immensely.

  • will a plumbers gas torch work?anybody??????

  • In 30 years, I always found the Stay-Silv flux dries up in the container after exactly 2 openings of the cap. Nice it's water based too, easy to just add a bit of water.

  • is it that torch of propane gas or not ?

if not >> can i use propane gas for brazing?

  • hahahaha @ citydriver i was gonna say tha same thing!

  • @freddytk421 i was amazed when i saw that at the fabtech show lol

  • Way cool!! Thanks for sharing Jody really enjoyed the video.

Hope all is well with you my friend!

  • Excellent! this is the bit of info I needed. Now I know how to braze in some ss fuel lines through the floor pan bulkheads in my VW notch.

  • very good video thanks

  • I also like to use a lot of flux. I have had problems with to much flux. In hot water heating systems. The flow control valve sticks . But if you are aware of it, flushing the system usually fixes it. And it is faster then being careful with every fitting.

  • @weldingtipsandtricks i mean fluxed to be a twist on " fucked" it up i guess it was only funny in my head as always a good video im learning alot from you

  • @freddytk421 Look on ebay for a bearing induction heater. They should be pretty plentiful. They come in all sizes with different sized bars for working from the i.d. Might be adaptable to certain welding situations of tube type materials. The portable o.d. heaters aren't as common and usually cost a chunk of change.

  • it is possible to braze or weld aluminum with copper?

  • That's an awesome way to go about it.. Cheap and easy. I need to figure out a way to apply this to the modifications I make on automobiles.. That's really awesome.

  • Would find one of those induction heaters verry usefull at work for silver soldering copper pipe, better than the old oxy acet. Very interesting vid, thanks,

  • love yours video's very imformative!

  • First. sweet vid.
