In 1841, Unitarian minister Rev. Theodore Parker delivered a highly controversial sermon on the nature of Christianity, suggesting the truth of Christianity lies not in Jesus or the Bible but in its message of love for humankind and God. The occasion was the ordination of a Unitarian minister, and almost immediately orthodox Congregationalists began a series of letters to the editors denouncing Parker, the minister being ordained and any Unitarians who refused to denounce Parker. This short skit by members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Montgomery includes excerpts from the orthodox ministers and the Unitarian responses adapted by UUFM minister Rev. Paul Britne
