H.264 video playback error on Cowon A3

Here is the information as it appears on the screen of my A3:

It's a bit of the "previously on" from the first episode of Battlestar Galactica.

As you can see the playback is pixelated and unwatchable, though sound works.

what about using it to record HD (720p) from the TV & playback? I have not seen a demo of this yet by anyone.

I'd give it a go, but I've got no sources of 720p output.

Thanks. I ask because I have seen a few comments on various forums & youtube that it is choppy on playback and/or recordings.

I would like to use this device as an extra LCD for an HD camcorder for focusing (those little camcorder factory LCD's suck). Plus it could be a back-up recording device too.
