Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey Leagues Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward will remain at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH, through Sunday night. Ward is expected to return to Raleigh on Monday, where he will be evaluated further by Hurricanes Head Orthopedic Physician Dr. Marty Isbell. The goaltender is expected to miss a minimum of three to four weeks of action.
Ward suffered a laceration of the left upper leg from the skate of Columbus forward Rick Nash, as Nash passed through the crease during the first period of Carolinas 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets on Saturday night. He was originally expected to return to Raleigh on Sunday, but will remain in Columbus through tonight to guard against infection.

@CoandCaSSTB I've heard about this little thing called Sweden that said that they're gonna win the last WC (2011) and the 1995 WC easily, and in '95 they even made a SONG about their victory before the match even had been played. So sweden respects the game and your opponent? Eh...

I swear to god i wish the USA wouldve won the gold so canadians would have literally nothing to talk about. I'm Swedish so I'm not a fan of american hockey either, but my god, Canadians are the biggest dicks when it comes to their country and hockey. In my country, pride comes from humility and respect for the game and your opponent.. not much of that here it seems.

I'm not trying to take anything away from other countries as they are definitely getting better at hockey and those numbers are going to continually rise. But Canada is the dominate force in hockey like it or not. And yeah some American fans love hockey and know about it more then some Canadians but A LOT of Americans would rather watch a bunch of fat people stand in a field swinging at a ball for 3 hours.

It's true that more superstars are coming from places other than Canada but there are still a shit load coming from Canada. And then we have way more depth then any other country. 2nd line players in the NHL get around say 50 points a year right? Well in 2010-11 season there were 46 Canadian born players that had 50 or more points and another 26 within 5 points of 50. That's 72 Canadian born players pushing 50 points. America had 22 players pushing 50. Sweden had 13 and Russia had 5.
