  • Well to please the die hard extremist ,they will never be pleased in whatever they see, thats proven,as al the horses that are working, look extremly well fed, groomed and shod.TheDept of Heath and aspca seem to quite satisfied with as many inspections they do regularly.Whatwe would benefit by not giving the animals the best care we can?Two very qualified vets ,1 a Prof from Cornell and the other a aspca consultant and vet for he mounted police testified no abuse whatsoever.

  • The ASPCA testify they want a ban on this industry in NYC. The NYC audit report stated that the dept of Health did not do the required inspection and no field exams at all.

  • My stable is shown on you tube's Maria on the Move,Ms.Derr spent the whole afternoon at my family's stable and loved it.

  • You really don't see the stalls where they keep the hores. and clinton and shamrock and byrne, why don't they post the videos of these "stables" . they can post videos of "petards" but not the stables. it says a lot to me.

  • @havinfar2muchfun you can see the trust the horse has in his human companion, he is completely calm and relaxed. That is a special thing you can't force. It makes me smile to see an animal so well cared for. I know that the video was put up to show 'cruelty' but it shows the exact opposite.

  • oh because 2 miles is SOOOOO far! PEOPLE can walk two miles....horses can do much better. Wild horses cover MANY miles in a day....

  • @horsesinnyc they have acctually go to stopliesseetruth he shows the stables learn the truth extremist

  • @horsesinnyc acctually that was a long time ago why dont you mind you buisiness and get a damn horse that horse is capably fine of walking and he is enjoying the fresh air you say everything is cruel why dont you jsut go ban bikes to while ur at it?

  • What a beautiful thing to see human and horse working together. What a spectacular way to get that beautiful percheron out and about... just a fine stroll and a great warm up before work. That's how you keep a horse healthy; stretching those big muscles. I envy those still allowed to bring their animals in public. My horse, kept in a quiet suburb of LA, is to remain ONLY on the small property due to local zoning laws. Even my dog, certified for therapy, remains unnecessarily chained up.

  • i know its funny coming from him

  • i am entitled to an opineon, which is i dont think horses belong in the middle of NYC. I am truly sorry your sisters horse had a fatal injury at pasture but no need for sarcasm. I have owned and loved many horses in my life time and the happiest i have ever seen them is when you turn them out and they run and frolic with other horses!

  • I agree totally horseinnyc, these horse do NOT belong in conjested traffic, not been able to roll or run after a hard days graft. You can not substitute a herd of horses for cars, a car cant be a look out for danger while the horse rest's therfore the horse can never truly rest!

  • Well said Indio156, glad some people who know about horses can read their body laungage and no what a horse needs!!!

  • I also agree that the horse looks relaxed, healthy, and not at all spooked.

Don't get pissy everytime somebody has a different opinion than you.

However, I don't really think that the city is a place for a horse.
