I disagree.

I believe he's far more than just some who obeyed orders.

Sir Mike Jackson refused Wes Clark's direct order to engage in battle with Russian troops over Pristina airport during Kosovo conflict explaining that he did not want to be the one to start WW3 for anyone.

It certainly takes some serious backbone to take a stand like that.

What a great man! When he was serving he did not choose what wars to fight or which wars were right or wrong. That was down to elected British governments. He just did his duty for his country with dignity and great professionalism.

You know yr details, Lilly. I remember the time. Soviet forces were smallish, in the area of 100 armoured APCS and conscripts. UK, Para ready, and the might of the USA. Jackson knew he could finish the Russians. British paras, were there and ready. J used "real politik" to take the heat out of that.

Yes, too bad all this high-sounding British propaganda doesn't mention how they carry out "peace" by keeping hard colonial rule in all the remaining batches of their former Empire.

Neither does it explain on what sort of legitimate right does the British claim lands on every continent that so blatantly don't belong to them. On how they use their seat at the UN security council to perpetuate the abuse in all impunity.
