Sing it girl!!! Loving your hair and outfit!! I have thought about what you said about relationships and all the roles people play in them....that's probably while I am single. You be strong and keep writing the beautilful music.
This is such a brilliant song; I have found that men (and those raised to be men) are not trained to respond to emotional need but rather simply 'to figure out what's wrong'. Thus the stereotypical "here's what you did wrong, here's what you SHOULD have done, now I'ma watch the game" manly response to a woman who KNOWS what is wrong and simply desires a sympathetic ear/emotional support.
Wow; we should really compare notes: when I first came into contact with my bf, one of the things he told me was that 'in Africa, women do most of the cooking'....Well, I had a bit of a discussion with him in the months that followed, and now the plan is that he is going to teach me how to cook Nigerian cuisine (and also how make clothing, as he is more well-versed in both of these arts than I!)
LOVE THIS SONG AND I AM SO GLAD YOU PUT THIS OUT THERE.... IT REMINDED ME I HAD WANTED TO TELL YOU AFTER THE CONCERT... I REALLY LOVED YOUR COMMENT ABOUT BEING OVERWHELMED WITH THE PRESSURES (LABELS) RELATED TO WOMANHOOD AND THE EXPECTATIONS OF KEEPING PRETTY AND PUTTING A HOT MEAL ON THE TABLE EVERY NIGHT!! WHO KNEW RIGHT???
