The Massachusetts Dept. of Correction hosted its first annual Diversity Vendor Open House at Northeastern Correctional Center in Concord on April 30, 2009.
Minority and women owned businesses had the opportunity to introduce themselves to a large state agency as well as share business opportunities with each other. DOC and other executive branch state agency procurement managers and representatives from the Affirmative Market Program were available to answer questions about potential contracts with the state.
Job seekers interested in current and future employment with the DOC and other state agencies had the opportunity to meet with state staff. Job seekers learned about the Civil Service process, which is part of the criteria for jobs such as Correction Officers, CO Head Cooks and other positions such as Correction Program Officers.
