  • @musicmachinesuk Much of this organ's somewhat limited repertoire is by Reg Turlington, Marcel A. Van Boxtel, Alan Pell and Carl Frei

  • @Thijsie92 Do you know who arranged it? Unfortunately this organ only has a small number of books, some of which are now too badly damaged to play, and I don't think Thursford can afford recuts :-(

  • @dalekbitch This is one of the best organs around, its loud powerful sound certainly belies its size, and it must have one of the best glokenspiels on any organ! The bellows could do with a reworking though, it seems to struggle somewhat on long chords :-(

  • @karlplastow I think the bellows on this organ have been needing maintenance for some time, you can hear it is getting somewhat starved of wind at times during this tune, also the glockenspiel does not sound at its best, and appears to be trying to play at times when it probably should not have been! Also the bandmistress's conducting arm does not appear to be going down on the downbeat, maybe that is a consequence of the bellows as well. And she seems a bit unsure of when to move her head!

  • @karlplastow Sadly most all of the organs at Thursford (with the exception of the 98 key Gavioli and the Marenghi) have a small repertoire which has not been extended since the 1970's or so. Although the 101 key Hooghys (the one that is playable) apparently had a new tune made for it a couple of years ago.

  • lovely organ, pity it only has a tiny repertoire of music, only 19 books, and two of these are too badly worn to use

  • This organ was built in 1925, and was considered by Wellershaus to be one of their showpieces. After the Second World War it played in a set of swingboats owned by a German showland family. It later went to a Dutch showman and dealer, who viewed it merely as an item for trade, and who I believe was the last owner before George Cushing brought it to Thursford. It never played on a Dutch fairground. I believe much of the organ's repertoire was arranged by Reg Turlington and Marcel van Boxtel.

  • This one of fave organs at Thursford,
