Is it possible to use American style joysticks? Like the competition style ones?

@The1337sandwich I tried but the base of the Happ sticks are just to big. It won't fit.

@Killcycle1989 I think he meant this (what he was pointing to, the original madcatz joystick) is basically a generic copy of the sanwa sticks

Great Job dude, that tutorial was really awesome, I'am looking into joysticks for my new PS3 and I'am not sure if I should buy a Standard or Tournament Joystick, but I think either way I will mod it after watching your vid.

My friend I want to ask you if this stick is similar to the one MadCatz made for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the Wii. This would be my first MOD and I would love to switch the stick for a Sanwa one with and American style TOP. Is is as simple as you make it look? What tools do you reccomend? Another thing, do you any idea or sugestions on how to replace the art the controller has (Tatsunoko background)?? I would like to replace it with a solid color background.

thanks for this simple and insightful tutorial...now all i have to do is wait for my sanwa parts to come in the mail..

one question tho'...how much would you say having sanwa parts instead of the madkatz ones improves your game?
