The long long misuse of a great Leatherneck's name is over. Public discourse was hijacked by ignorance. Thanks to the Marine Corps League and others such as George Barrows good folks have learned of this Marine's awesome record of saving the Corps and establishing the Marine Corps we have today.

Media both print and television have exercised their journalistic integrity at a time when love of country and our Corps is sorely needed.

Much like the word "Colonel" the return to respecting the Lejeune / luh jern family name is well underway. The members of the press whose integrity has made this happen should be applauded. Clearly, respect can be a slippery slope - how many Americans speak George Washington's fine name with a harsh "R". Civil discourse and pronunciation pale compared to the need to respect and thank General Lejeune / luh jern for the legacy he has left behind. One enjoyed by many Carolinians and Marines everywhere.

Great Video - I'm on board! I hear some people still say Le june. ..WRONG! its pronounced Luh jern . Its like writing Marines w/ a sissy little small m instead of a Cap. or saying Corpse instead of Corps (Core) . who cares? We MARINES care! !!
