More than 1,000 students, parents and teachers gathered at American Fork High School Sunday evening to thank Heather Christensen for her final and greatest sacrifice: her life.
@reu91 She did not just save someone, but a whole bus load of high school students. It was amazing what she did. I had friends on that bus that would have died if she had not done what she did. She died for it, she was thrown out of the window and the bus rolled over on her. She's a hero... even after two years!
I'm from MC and I remember hearing about the accident. At the next competition (BYU) we all got red ribbons to wear on our uniforms. I still have mine and I remember crying at the competition when I saw a bunch of your band crying as they honored Heather. It's amazing you guys kept going that season and I loved the back drop about Heather that you added later in the season. Good Job AF, keep going! I'll think of her at ISU this fall!
I go to this High School and that was one of the saddest times of my life! I didn't know Heather personally.. But I had many friends on that bus. She has been a hero for many and I am truly grateful for her actions. For a month after this going to school was extremely hard. The Vigil was one of the best things I've ever been to!
I just tuned into this. I think the lack of dicipline in this world is absolutly sickening and I'm very happy to see there is someone in this world who can step up to do the right thing and save a bunch of kids. Thank you so much Heather.
Heather saved my life. I was not on that bus, but I knew her and without her encouragement and her friendship, I would not have made it. Miss you Heather. Love you!
