I was under the impression the reason why allot of judo guys stand up and not with hips back was because you can only hold for a few seconds with your hips back. Crouched like this is not illegal. Hips way back "defensively" I'm pretty sure is.

It doest stall the match! Its a defensive move! Its not illegal either! I do it all the time in judo matches! Usually they try and collar choke me! But I'm able to turtle my neck and get right in! But I do this all the time in judo matches! Easy pickins! haha Sometimes.. sometimes.. I might catch a back ground wrestler and thats where I usually have some trouble!

yah maybe because its Illegal. Judo you must stay in the pocket, if you stand defensively it just stalls the match. You can't jump guard too.. so it trains you to be very good at throwing people.
