Keeping a dachshund's weight down and making sure she eats healthy food motivates this dog owner to feed her only home-cooked meals. This kitchen video shows you how to prepare the best ingredients on earth and assemble individual packages for freezing that will supply your small dog for more than a month of wholesome eating. Bon appétit!

  • You make a good point about the naturally-occurring sugar in the starchy vegetables. Perhaps we need to cut back on the sweet potato or pumpkin. As for the number of times we feed her -- it's twice a day -- breakfast and dinner. Half a bag for each meal. You have a lovely dog, too.

  • part 2, (didn't fit) anyway I loved your video, love the organization. and it is nice to know that some people love their dog enough to take out the time to cook for them. Unfortunately my dogs will only eat fresh cooked meals if I freeze them they won't eat it anymore. I also add some fish along with the chicken. how many times a day do you feed your dog?

  • you are very well organized,, you clean as you go, I do the same thing, I also cook for my shih tzu's but my ingredients are different, I use carrots alone I don't add pumpkin or sweet potatoes because all 3 contain too much sugar, I believe that one of the 3 is enough, I use chicken upper thigh instead of turkey breast because it is not as dry, and dogs need some fat in their diet it is good for the coat After all that work in the end your dog preferred the cheese, ungrateful dog LOL!
