Overall an excellent performance, but I guess I've been spoiled by Richter... nothing else I've heard compares to his Rachmaninov preludes... Berezovsky has amazing technique but sometimes seems to be pushing himself too hard, causing occasional errors that detract from the performance, in addition to drawing his attention away from finer aspects of interpretation. But then again, maybe I'm just too picky.

What beautiful music!

Little memory slip at 4:53 where he starts to take the first series of chords, quickly realizes his error and gets to the correct extended series but sacrifices several of them in the save. But, hell, I'll take memory slips like that any day to play it that effortlessly. I always say, Berezovsky is sooo kool he probably burns the equivalent calorie count of a Cliff bar every concert he gives.

dude I understood only last word and your emoticon (because I am Slovak) and I still can say that you are off!!! Just because he took the prelude faster doesn't mean he is not being imaginative, creative and inventive! Moreso than that! If you can do music and do it in a fast tempo, you should be even more praised.

The title says excerpts, but he plays the full 2nd prelude.
Me thinks he made the right decision.
