Sanyo GH3 digital camcorder - thoughts and quick run through

Sanyo GH3 from Argos; was down from £299 to £129 in sale. Very good price. Nice Camera. Couple of small negatives, but overall really pleased with purchase. Photo quaity fine for 'snap and shoot' images, being decent colour depth with sharp clear images. Video quality good to excellent , being clear and crisp, though just with a very slight tendancy to be dark - though this can be corrected with the internal settings by selecting the "cloudy" setting; (which lets more light into the lens).....Sound quality very good also....Overall I would rate it; 7.5 out of 10 (especially for price)

not sure why your having the probs. The only probs I sometimes get after transferring high def vid across is that it was be slower play back at first untill the video has loaded fully; then will seem to be ok.

yeah, you would get an hour on a 16gb card. I've got a 16gb and got more than an hour on it. it also comes with a decent 'slide show' option - so you can set the camera to play out the entire contents of the card on the Tv.

yeah you can mount on tripod. Connection on bottom. -

small 'joby groillopod' ideal as light and can be twist to different angles.

battery that it comes with is only 700mah....so 1300mah from ebay more suitable. a couple of spares is fine.

720p 60fps yes or 30fps also.

Had the camera now for a few weeks and I really like it. DON'T be put off by the battery life as it's really NOT that bad. I bought another 3 spares and an extra charger only not to really need them !!!!......for some reason even though the camera says "battery low", it will keep going for a good few uses after. It just seems to show an icon of a low battery when recording, but as soon as you go to view mode the battery life suddenly shows a full (strange !!). Anyway, point being ; its okay...

What player are you using to watch clips on your PC ? Are you recording at the highest quality ? I've tried it in another laptop of mine and also on a desktop but still no good ..

I've literally tried it on every player that I have on my laptop ( VLC, Windows Media Player, Media player classic, QuickTime, Realplayer) and have the same problem regardless .. I know it's not a problem with the camera because it plays perfectly through the camera and also on the TV ( through the camera) . If I put it on the third highest video quality it plays OK but the problem gets worse if I increase the quality .. I'm stumped !!!

Hi, I bought this camera recently and am very surprised with the quality for the small price. The playback is perfect through the camera and if connected to the TV but am having trouble playing it on my computer after transferring the clips from the card. . It freezes and becomes pixelated even when played with the most up to date codec’s... any help with this would be greatly appreciated .. the problem seems to get worse the higher the quality of the recording ..

how long can you record for if i got a 16gb memory card would i b able to take an hour long video without beaking it up coz iv heard u have to break them up on some cameras
