@Rivendarr she has rested her voice for almost 2 years now, let's see if that has helped her voice, she said it helped.

a great song and a great singer!!!

@stewardlie Think about a bunch of factors. The Daydream tour was tiresome; she had been singing for years outside her comfortable range, with incredible belts; she got married, thus, more free to do what she wanted (she probably took some alcohol in here, which damage the voice); no rest; nodules getting bigger; working day and night... -> these are fact.
Some say she had undergone a surgery during this period, to remove her nodules, and that changes the voice aswell. -> not proven

@stewardlie Yes, also the divorce afected her in so many different ways, and if we add the lack of rest factor, we have the reason.

I honestly don't see a change in her voice. I think it is the singing style that changed. Many people perceive a change since her look drastically changed from the Vision of Love Album. I think the style is less Soul...R&B and more pop.

I love that in the Rosie O'Donald show she could show off her most intimite songs like close my eyes , petals etc

the best live for close my eyes...!

I wonder what make Mariah's voice to change so drastically from the daydream era to butterfly era? I mean, it's only like 2 to 3 years span but it changed so much. Is it because the daydream tour that was too rigorous?
