@undergroundalcoholsi This is the reason why he is the most loved conqueror in history of man kind. He was not insulent, egocentric, savage like hitler, napoleon, or spanish or english crowns. He built the world he conquered, borught scribes, technology, medicine, writings, law, and also inturn he adopted useful things from the nations and civilisations he had conquored. There will never be anyone like him again.
-
@undergroundalcoholsi Yes history is written by the victors, and yet he did not invade ireland, nor scotland, nor australia nor north america! He expanded greek culture and way of life outside the borders of greece that way ensuring the survival of Greece/Macedonia itself. As opposite to what english did to scots and irish, and indians, australian aboriginies which were blatant genocides! Alexander kept the conquored culture intact keeping its idenitity and prosperity.

@Ouija121085 'Incorporated them into his empire' = destruction of a nation's sovereignty. Just ask the peoples of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Australia. Not to mention hundreds of others. There's no difference between what he did and what the 'barbaric' tribes of the world were doing. History is written by the victors, and sugarcoated.

@undergroundalcoholsi Number one he was not a barbarian, he conquored nations and civilisations but never destroyed them. He incorporated then into his empire. He had a vision for unification of the world under one leader. He was brilliant general and history remembers him as such for eternity.

Craterus = Sandor Clegane in Game of Thrones; a.k.a. The Hound... b.k.a. ... a bad motherfucker!

@undergroundalcoholsi He tried to combine cultures, he tried never to destroy the nacions he conquered, thats why hes generals were starting to go against im, he mixed Idian, Persian, Egypcian and greek cultures, he even made citys and tried to unite the world so he did not destroy other nations, he respected them, but he tried combine with it with the greek way.
-
I find it funny that people can call this man 'great'. All he ever did was destroy other nations. He was a murderer and a savage, he does not deserve all the glory that history has granted him. Fucking barbarian.

this speech was jus the f*cking greatest>>i jus love his facial expression when he sez "because you've fallen in love with all this things in life that destroy men" =)

Great men of those times no longer exist. Wheres that passion of men to conquer the unknown and reach for the heavens. Alexander was great because he saw the potential in men to be something more. His love was had no limits, as his vision had no ends.
