This is my first dulcimer built from scratch. All of the wood is reclaimed and has a story of it's own. The mahogany came from an old gate-leg table top that needed to become something else. The shape was something I was thinking about for a while. and although I am pleased with the result, it takes a long time to build the ribs. I'll try a teardrop next. Hope you enjoy the video. Feel free to ask any "how to " questions.

  • This is a very interesting vid. I like the result - it is a nice star-decor on your dulcimer. I have a mountain dulcimer too.

    Nice greetings from Anette

  • @TanteA Thanks for the comments. Are you playing your dulcimer? I enjoyed hearing your songs and hope you continue to write music. There will never be too much music! Best wishes to you.

  • Thank you for sending me the fret calculator. It will be of great help for me when I attempt my first dulcimer.

    thanks again,

    Liam

  • I am interested in maybe eventually building a dulcimer also and would like to know ow to space the frets correctly. is there any chance you could give me the spacings or direct me to a resource that will tell me how to position them?

    thanks in advance.

    Liam
