Following the Versailles Conference of 1919, President Woodrow Wilson returns home to find the Congressional and Senate leaders are opposed to any further involvement with Europe. The United States retrenches to its prewar position of isolation from international affairs.
Both of you are crazy. Isolationism doesn't work in the modern world, global markets are the cornerstone of US prosperity, and Autarky hasn't been viable for at least 200 years.
And to what ends are you endorsing isolationism anyway?

The USA should return to isolationism today. Get the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. No more "nation building." No more American imperialism. Withdraw membership from NATO and the U.N. Get out of NAFTA, the WTO, the IMF, and the World Bank. Get the troops guarding the borders. End all foreign aid. Cut military spending big time and in other areas. Start paying down the national debt. Consult Ron Paul and Jim Traficant, a constitutionalist and a populist, President Obama.
