Made in Germany | Turning Passenger Jets into Cargo Planes

Airbus reckons that the number of cargo planes is set to soar. Both Airbus and Boeing have full order books and can't keep up with demand.

'Elbe Flugzeugwerke' in Dresden converts passenger planes into cargo planes. It was founded in 1955 under the communist regime in East Germany and now belongs to EADS, which also owns Airbus.

Good thing they fixed those rusty fuselage parts. It is about damn time. Wouldn't want to have fixed it while it was still a passenger plane.

Why the hell is it going to Britain for a paint job? Surely the germans are able to paint?if they can primer it they can paint it,surely someone in germany does graphics? All that time,miney and fuel wasted taking it to the UK where they will be charged five times as much as anyone else to paint it,its a british tradition to rip people off and take them for as much cash as you can get,ofcourse the workers who paint it will get peanuts for the job while the managers sit on their fat asses.

Israel's BEDEK is quite cheaper and well known than German converters - I think Muslim nations - especially the modern and forward looking ones like Qatar and Bahrain would certainly reconsider their ban on Israeli technology and place orders for Israeli high-tech hardware!!
